We're the Wolverton family- a family of five who absolutely love what we do. What started as a personal search for our first doodle quickly turned into a lifelong passion. In October 2018, we officially launched Triad Doodles (formerly Virginia is for Doodles), and it’s been an incredible journey ever since.
People often ask us what inspired us to start breeding. When we were searching for our sweet girl Honey (our original mama, now retired ❤️), it was surprisingly difficult to find a goldendoodle raised in a home—not a barn or a shed. We knew we wanted a puppy raised with love, care, and the everyday experiences of family life. And we realized just how rare that truly was.
This vision was a natural fit for us. Ryan comes from a family of breeders—his mother raises Shih Tzus, his grandfather bred German Shorthaired Pointers. It really does run in the family! Once we fell in love with the goldendoodle breed, we knew we wanted to offer something different: a place where puppies are raised right in the home, surrounded by people, play, and lots of love.
Puppy pickup day is always emotional—we get so attached! But the joy we see on each family’s face when they take their new puppy home makes it all worth it. To all the families who have trusted us over the years—thank you. And to those we haven’t met yet—we can’t wait to welcome you to the Triad Doodles family.
